Smoking Loon Wines vary in quality and origin, ranging from regions domestic to those as farfetched as Chile. In fact, their Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon is probably their best seller in the U.S.; however, I found it a bit thin as cabs go, with little or no finish.
On the other hand, I was pleasantly surprised with their merlot offering that finds its origins in California. It has a decent nose, a fruity and flavorful taste, with a clean denouement.
It's also easy to locate online and in stores, at prices that seldom exceed ten dollars, a true bargain to be sure.
