Having once visited Cline Cellers, I can attest that it is a wonderfully picturesque vineyard in Sonoma County. An excursion from San Francisco is highly recommended for the scenery, culture and, of course, the wine tasting.
As is true of so many vineyards in Sonoma, its lineup is strong, but this post concerns itself with their Ancient Vines Mourvèdre, a unique wine with character and depth, as well as strength, making it a nice pairing with a variety of red meats and wild game.
And though Cline's Mourvèdre is listed at their site in excess of twenty dollars, it can easily be found for significantly less.
